Update from Perth

Hi girls!!
I guess it is time for a little update on what I've done since you guys left. I cannot believe it has already been almost 4 weeks since the summerholiday started!!
After Hans FINALLY finished his exams a week after I did, we went on a road trip with Mark (a guy from Hans's class) to Bremer Bay. Bremer Bay is east of Albany and is a little place with 250 citizens. Mark's family has a summer house there, so we went there to relax after the exams. On the way back we went to the Valley of the Giants and went on the Tree top walk. The trees here were huge!! Just see the pictures...

The roadtrip you guys went on in the study break sounded like a lot of fun, so Hans and I decided we also wanted to go on a trip like that. But first we needed a car. So, Mark said he would help us finding one. After searching for almost a day, we found one that was ok. It is not a fancy one, but it is red car (don't know much about cars...). It is similar to the one Lars had. Anyway, last Tuesday we started our roadtrip and headed north. We made it all the way to Exmouth and came back yesterday. On our way up, we stopped at the Pinnacles and other things to look at, and we had a few days in Coral Bay as well. The car worked fine all the time except twice.... First, when we were on our way to Nature's Window in Kalbarri national park. Someone was driving (NOT me...) and was driving too fast on the hot desert road. And it was pretty far in to the thing. Anyway, I suddenly realized the car was overheating due to the stupid driving. So we had to stop and sit and wait there until the engine cooled down again. We didn't make it all the way in there, which is too bad; however, maybe we can do it later. I sure wasn't happy, and I surely told Hans... The other time the car had a little trouble was in Coral Bay. The car just wouldn't start one morning. Maybe not surprising, since it had been standing still with the lights on for 40 hours?? Not me driving with the lights on either..... Arg.....

However, we did have a great time, and there was so much to see! In Coral Bay we went on a kayak trip to the outer reef. There we went snorkling (with a guide) and saw turtles, sharks (guess if I was scared..) and thousands of fish! It was great. The sharks weren't dangerous because they were not interested in people, but for me, sharks are sharks. I was screaming into the snorkel when I saw them, I guess that must have made a stupid noice on the surface...

My parents and my brother are coming on Wednesday. That's less than one week! I am really looking forward to it. A girl in one of my classes had a (plastic) Christmas tree she wasn't using, so she gave it too me. So, I guess we have to put it together closer to Christmas Eve... Maybe we can get a little of the "Christmas feeling" after all. We all go to Sydney to celebrate New years. I hope it will be great, at least I am looking forward to seeing my family again.

I took some pictures when we went to Carnegie's and at the party at Irene and Anette's. Therese, I heard you didn't remember meeting us at Carnegie's, but here is proof.... :)

Unfortunately, I didn't go diving in Thailand because I ran out of money:( I'll have to go back and do it later. Therese and I got to see thai boxing,I recommend that!! We had lots of fun.
